St. John the Baptist, Shottesbrooke
Perhaps this is the Jewel in the the Crown - the delightful collegiate church of St. John the Baptist at Shottesbrooke.
Lovingly restored some years ago by Sir John and Christian Smith there is a 9.30 am. service there most Sundays.
Sunday Services
Services at St. John The Baptist, Shottesbrooke are held at 9.30 am. most Sundays (except during August, when, by local tradition, there are no services).
- 1st, 3rd & 5th Sunday - Morning Prayer
- 2nd & 4th Sunday - Holy Communion
There is a traditional Carol Service at Christmas.
Choral Evensong Service
Sunday 17th June at 6.30pm at Shottesbrooke Church. Everyone is welcome.
Gaining Access to Shottesbrooke Church
Shottesbrooke Church is in Shottesbrooke Park, entry to which is via a locked wooden gate off the B3024 opposite the turning into Smewins Road. To open the gate you will need to use the keypad and entryphone system on the right hand gatepost. Follow the instructions provided (they tell you to press RESET, then enter the number listed for the Church, then press CALL) and explain to the person answering that you are at the gate and wishing to visit the Church. They will open the gate for you remotely. When you leave the gate will open automatically.
